Overview
Shared decision making contribute to improve the patient’s problematic situation. Being able to co-create and jointly revise plans of care may reduce the risk of a poor-quality decision, that is, one that does not respond sensibly to the problem, fails to support patient goals and priorities, and maximally disrupts patient lives and loves

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Discuss Shared Decision Making (SDM) fundamentals including benefits challenges
  2. Apply basic SDM strategies to your everyday practice
  3. Identify situations in which basic SDM may not be enough to resolve a problem
  4. Employ strategies for advanced SDM

Texas Children’s Hospital is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
